Hi, again! I'm the owner and founder of Little Llama Sleep Solutions, based in Texas. I'm a wife to my husband Trey, and we have two little girls, Campbell and Carrington. Since becoming parents, we have learned the importance of establishing healthy sleep habits for our babies. My decision to start this business was driven by recognizing the crucial need to support fellow moms during the challenging journey of motherhood. Being a mom myself, I fully understand the struggles that come with sleepless nights and the toll it takes on every aspect of life. Working as a sleep consultant allows me to be present with my girls as they grow, while also providing me with the opportunity to contribute to my family financially, exercise my mind, and find my purpose outside of being a mom. It's truly the best of both worlds! I am so excited to be able to provide guidance to families seeking to positively impact their lives through giving their children the gift of independent sleep.

Sleep is an essential part of a child’s well-being during a period of rapid development. It facilitates physical and cognitive growth, boosts immune systems, and contributes to emotional regulation. Sleep is so important! Sleep training has become a controversial topic in recent years; however, sleep, like any other skill, is something that must be learned. This is not something you’re doing to them, but rather, for them. Sometimes we must make decisions for the health and safety of our children, that they may not like or understand at the time. There is no scientific evidence to support the notion that short-term crying is harmful or damages attachment. The brain is designed to process the normal amounts of stress and discomfort that occur during childhood as they learn various new skills. In the context of a loving home, where all needs are being met around the clock, a few minutes of crying, while learning a new skill, is not going to cause trauma. Numerous studies conducted to evaluate the impact of sleep training found no difference in the development or the attachment of children who were sleep trained and children who were not. However, studies do show that poor sleep negatively impacts children’s development and brain health. As parents, we must follow our instincts as to what we feel is best for our children. They want and need to sleep, and they must do so in a way that works for the whole family. Sleeping, like rolling or crawling, is something that comes naturally to babies, but sometimes they need a little help learning how to do it. As parents, we can facilitate learning and growth, as they navigate new challenges in life, including sleeping independently. Well rested children are happy, thriving children.
Sleep training is not only beneficial for the child, but for the parents, too. Parents need sleep to give their children the love and attention they deserve. It is not reasonable to expect parents to tend to their child’s needs every hour of the day and night. No one can survive without sleep. Just because it is common for some babies to be up all hours of the night does not mean it is normal. Children are extremely intelligent and with gentle guidance, they can learn the important skill of independent sleep. I believe adequate sleep is the first step in raising confident, successful, well-adjusted children. This is something that can be accomplished through intentional steps regarding their sleep habits.
